ECO FLOW

What is Atrazine?

Atrazine is a widely used, synthetic systemic herbicide, primarily for controlling broadleaf and grassy weeds in major crops like corn, sorghum, and sugarcane, as well as on turf, but its use is controversial due to environmental persistence and potential health effects, leading to restricted use in many areas, requiring certified applicators.

Elevator pitch
EcoFlow designs a structure that will detect detrimental elements of Atrazine in close to real-time, utilising a sustainable source of light. Brainstorming potential candidates such as Photonic MIPs (Molecular Imprinted Polymer) sensors and Enzymes Based Biosensors, we opt for the most cost-effective and critical method to present accurate data. Solely in China, it is unveiled that “[from] 2013 to 2015, China has exported about 137,000 tonnes of atrazine products,” (ReportBuyer) underscoring the proliferated use of such toxic chemicals. While China has set countermeasures to extract this practice out, such as “Zero Growth Action Program for Pesticide Use by 2020” policy and established atrazine contamination regulation, it nonetheless has only emphasised in deterring the use of atrazine, not eliminating them. Our product will agree to this stance yet contribute significantly, as we’ll be the first to properly pioneer this market, ensuring a secured business potential and nation-wide aid to impede atrazine overflow.
